Nigerian Military Wipes Out Terrorists, Intercepts Logistics in Borno

The troops of Nigerian soldiers under Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated over 21 terrorists in a fierce clash at Sojiri and Kayamla villages along the Damboa–Maiduguri Road in Borno State.

The operation, conducted in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, followed credible intelligence about a large terrorist gathering suspected of planning coordinated attacks.

The encounter, which began around noon on Saturday, saw troops engage an estimated 100 terrorists. Despite attempts by some insurgents to flank the soldiers, superior firepower enabled the troops to hold their ground.

At least 17 bodies were confirmed at the scene, with more suspected as blood trails led into nearby bushes.

Recovered items included arms, ammunition, and other logistics, as troops continued to apply pressure to restrict terrorist movement.

A tactical withdrawal was carried out to stabilize the situation and allow troops to regroup, with morale remaining high despite the intensity of the battle.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing offensive operations to protect Maiduguri, Damboa, and surrounding communities in the North-east.

“At least 17 bodies were confirmed at the scene, with more suspected as blood trails were observed leading into nearby bushes.

“Items recovered included arms, ammunition, and other logistics, as troops continued to apply pressure to deny the terrorists freedom of movement.”
