Terrorists invade Southern Kaduna community, kidnap 10

Terrorists have again attacked Kuyanbana village in Rumaya community, Kauru Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna, abducting no fewer than 10 residents, including men and women.

Those kidnapped from the community, which lies close to a military formation, include Anthony Gambo, Sule S. Maigari, Asabe Sule, Makuku Joshua, Bako Bagobiri, Regina Nehemiah, Kabiru Ishaku, Lemich Ishaku, Solomon Barnabas, and Kaninzo Maitala.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, has drawn strong condemnation from the Kauru Local Government Community Development Associations (CDAs) Forum.

In a statement signed by its spokesman, Daniel Danau, on behalf of the chairman, Dr. Billy Ishaya Laah, the forum said:

“The Kauru Local Government Community Development Associations (CDAs) Forum strongly condemns the kidnapping of 10 innocent individuals from Kuyanbana village, Rumaya community, around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, 23/10/2025, by unknown gunmen.”

While sympathising with the victims and their families, the forum called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to take immediate action to secure their safe release.

The CDAs expressed concern over the recurring abductions despite the presence of military formations in nearby areas such as Dokan Karji in Kauru Chiefdom, Damakasuwa in Tsam, and Kwassam in Kumana Chiefdom.

“This is uncalled for,” the statement added. “We urge the authorities concerned to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators of this unfortunate act and bring them to justice.”

The group further appealed to the government to urgently end “this barbaric act of kidnapping and killing of innocent people by intensifying security surveillance, as many communities can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed due to fear of the unknown.”

“Once again, as we stand in solidarity with the families of the victims and pray for their safe return, we call on communities in Kauru Local Government Area to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious movement to prevent further attacks,” the forum stated.
